Jewellery Care
Sterling silver and natural stones are made to be worn every day. A little care keeps every Snera piece looking the way it did when you first opened the box.
Everyday wear
- Put your jewellery on last, after perfume, lotion and hairspray, and take it off first.
- Remove it before bathing, swimming, exercising or cleaning. Chlorine, salt water and sweat speed up tarnish and wear on plating.
- Avoid knocks against hard surfaces. Bezel-set stones are well protected, but carved and cabochon stones can still chip.
Storage
- Store each piece separately in its Snera pouch or a lined box so pieces don't scratch each other.
- Keep jewellery somewhere cool and dry. Air and humidity are what cause silver to tarnish.
- Fasten chains before storing them to prevent tangles.
Cleaning
- Wipe gently with a soft, dry polishing cloth after wearing.
- For silver-finish pieces, a gentle rub with a silver polishing cloth brings back the shine. Natural darkening over time is normal for sterling silver.
- For micron gold and rhodium finishes, use only a soft dry cloth. Avoid silver dips, abrasive cloths and ultrasonic cleaners, which can wear the plating.
